KallOut

In Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1, a feature called Activities(renamed to accelerators in Beta 2) was introduced. It allowed you to search anything by simply selecting and and clicking on the Activities button . KallOut is a similar selection based search software which works from many applications such as the Microsoft Office Suit , Firefox , Adobe Acrobat and not limited to Internet Explorer. It displays images, videos, synonyms, news, shopping links,maps etc in a small window instead of opening the result in a new browser windows hence saving time. You can minimize the result windows and it will get docked at the top of the desktop. It reminds you of the Mac OSX dock bar when you hover over it.It is available for Windows till date. You can also use custom keys to bring up the KallOut search dialog.It takes a few seconds for KallOut to connect to the server initially. KallOut is a freeware application.
