    Quake Live #4

Quake Live on Windows 7 beta

When i tried Quake Live on Windows 7 beta (32 bit) with Firefox 3.0.5, the Windows theme switched from Windows Aero to the Windows basic theme.. After the map finished loading, the game was getting stuck and was rendering very poorly and the sound was very choppy. The screenshots will show you what i mean. Note the trail left by the cursor on the second screenshot indicating the poor rendering. I have also put up a post in the Quake live forums. So as of now Quake Live is incompatible with Windows 7.

UPDATE : Apparently it is a problem regarding lack of support of Open GL by the default NVIDIA drivers. GeForce users  have to now download the latest drivers from Windows Update. I got the game running but the Aero interface is still turned off. ATI Radeon users can download the latest catalyst drivers, extracting them and then updating the drivers manually on Device Manager.

It appear to be having problems with openGL games in windows 7, I fixed it by installing OpenGL drivers (Even though Internal card supports OpenGL). So far Linux 'Wine' + Q3 Live Works nicely, I hope that Windows 7 isn’t just a reskinned version of Vista.
